Q1: Is this product hard plastic or have a rubbery feel?
The unit is hard plastic and feels well made. -
Q2: Does this work with the 2022 Hyundai ionic 5 on Tesla super chargers?
I have a Tesla Model 3 and a KIA Niro EV. The Lectron adapter will work on Tesla destination chargers (240 V chargers) but not on superchargers. The supercharger has to recognize the car as a Tesla. -
Q3: If I use the adapter at the tesla superstaion will this blow up nissan ariya battery or injure it?
It will not work. This adapter is rated at 48A while the Tesla superchargers are rated at 500A+. Further the CCS1 standard has separate connectors for DC charging which are not in this adapter. This apadter only supports AC charging. -
Q4: Lock the adapter - is there any way to lock the adapter to prevent it from being taken? i have an airbnb vacation rental with tesla wall connector
If your vehicle locks the charging connector when plugged in, it will also lock this (some vehicles do, some vehicles don't). If your vehicle does not lock the connector - look at the picture closely here. The little hole on the button on the top allows you to put a small padlock through it which will prevent the button from being depressed to remove the adapter from your vehicle. It would only prevent an opportunistic thief because it is just a tiny padlock, but it is a reasonable deterrent. This adapter, however, does not lock to the Tesla cable so there is nothing to prevent someone from unplugging your car.
