Own 4 of them, and they perform well. Best value in a V-mount battery you are going to find anywhere. Usually you would only get 95Wh at this price, but this battery delivers almost twice as much power at the same price as other budget batteries and many time the value of overpriced name brands. I am using it to power a Sony FS7 and an Atomos Shogun, and I am getting anywhere from 4 - 5 hours depending on the recording format I'm using. The 4 LED power display is not as fancy as some other brands, but I don't need it. I pretty much know when to check the juice by pushing the button, and when the last LED starts to flash, it's time to switch out. When charging, the LED of the highest level flashes so you can estimate how long you have to go. It takes about 3 hours to fully charge. The battery has a D-tap and a USB power connector which is very nice. A lot of cameras, including the FS7 allow remote control from an iPhone or iPad this ensures I always have the USB power I need. Last, but not least, I like that they supply a charger, so I don't have to buy one If you're on a budget and you don't want to compromise on how much power you can get for your dollar, look no further.

I have nothing but wonderful things to say about this battery. Let me give you a rough explanation of my usage and 5 star rating.
I'm an event and wedding videographer, where I am constantly on the move and rarely near a power source for very long. Every second of my 10-14 hour days is spent with my camera on the move, so battery longevity and reliability are absolutely paramount.
When shooting weddings, I use a DJI Ronin M mounted upside down on a Jockey 5th Axis Stabilizer, with a Sony A7r2, a SmallHD 701 lite monitor, a D-tap powered video light, and a Zoom H5n recorder. For the A7r2 I use a dummy battery converter to convert it to D-tap and I use a Canon lp-e6 converter to convert the Small HD 701 lite to use d-tap power as well. I then have this MAXOAK battery on a v-mount to d-tap plate mounted to the jockey arm, with a d-tap port splitter (converts one d-tap port to 4) so that all of my d-tap equipment plugs into this one battery. This means much of my equipment (camera, monitor, light) is powered from this MAXOAK battery alone. This is a godsend because I now have 2 batteries to keep up with (Ronin M battery and the MAXOAK), instead of about 5 and when I change out the one MAXOAK battery, it changes out the battery for all attached equipment. Almost zero downtime.
This past weekend I shot a wedding from 8am (to get brides arrival, getting ready, daily events, etc) to when they left the reception at around 1045pm. ONE single MAXOAK battery lasted me from 8am until around 7pm (11 hours) powering the light, camera, and monitor at 100% brightness all day. When I unplugged the first MAXOAK battery, it still had one green light left, so it was around 20%. Based on the percentage decrease per hour, I could have likely finished a 14 hour filming session over the course of a whole day on a single battery pack with all of my primary equipment pulling from the battery for power. This is on a MAXOAK battery that I bought about 2 years ago, so almost zero battery cell degradation has occurred. That is excellent.
With the v-mount quick release, changing a battery can be done in about 2-4 seconds so downtime isn't an issue at all.
I've been very impressed with this battery in the time I've spent with it. The above recent example was using a MAXOAK battery that I bought about 2 years ago, so it has held its energy capacity like a champ through quite a few recharges. I have now bought 4 of these batteries for my other cameras (attaching these to tripods to power cameras for a very long duration is great when I'm solo filming a wedding ceremony with 4 cameras at different locations) and I have not ever had a single hiccup from any of them. Power delivery is constant and reliable, they also never get warm.
IMPORTANT- Do keep in mind however that the d-tap port on the battery itself does NOT supply power. It is for charging ONLY. To connect d-tap devices to this battery you need a v-mount plate with a d-tap out connection. In purchasing a v-mount plate, don't spend less than ~$125, as the locking mechanism on most of the cheaper ones is plastic with a weak spring and the loose connection will cause the power to cut out with even slight movement. That's not good when it happens in the middle of a crucial scene and you lose footage. Get a good v-mount plate, as this battery is only as good as the plate it's mounted to.
I can't imagine many projects requiring more than 1-2 of these batteries unless it's a multi-day project with no access to a power source to charge. These batteries are excellent value and provide a TON of power for a very cheap price. When paired with a good v-mount plate, these are some of the best batteries that you can buy for powering d-tap equipment. Highly HIGHLY recommended.

These batteries are great I have two and plan to buy 4-6 more for my LED Lights. They run for about 2 hours and 30 mins on my Blackmagic Ursa with the 10" and both 5" displays at 100% brightness. I highly recommend these over other V mounts that cost 2-3 times more in the 150 Wh - 230 Wh range.

this battery is great!! i waited a few months to test this battery before reviewing. first of all i use this on my 120d aputure light and it is the best battery hands down! i use it for weddings music videos etc and it really last 3 hours or so..i cant tell you how much i benefit from using this anywhere instead of having to look for a power outlet and have wires running all over the floor. makes your life easier and made my life alot cleaner for filming...will definitely make a review for youtube on this soon must buy

I run 4 of these maxoak batteries now for both FS7 power and powering Ikan and Intellytech lighting panels. I've been very happy with the performance and the price point.
I recently had one battery fail, wouldn't take a full charge and was throwing a fault with my IDX quad charger. I emailed the company through amazon, and they took care of me immediately. That was the one thing I was worried about giving up by not going with the Anton and IDX companies anymore was customer service. Maxoak Direct made it right and for that I applaud them. I'll continue to buy their batteries.

I have purchased 4 MaxOak batteries (177wh) and they are built really well. Lighter than I expected and easy to transport. They fit in the hands really well and connect to my lights perfectly. I haven't seen them lose their charge yet and I've used them on multiple 2 and 3 hour shoots. They are on my AXR-TEC LED lights and my Dracast lights and they sure are handy for cordless lighting. Can't beat the price at all. Customer service is the best I have ever encountered !!

This was purchased to power my VR camera that has multiple lens (films in 360) and sucks a lot of energy. It held up the entire day during shooting and still wasn't kaput at the end. I've only ever charged it overnight, so I don't know how long it actually takes to recharge. It does seem a tad on the pricey side, but it works well. Remember that you might need an adapter cord depending on what you want to have it power.

I have been looking for a good Vmount solution to my current camera setup; this unit has worked perfectly. I run a rig with a Canon body, monitor, and Lavs. Everything operates from the Dtap connector on the battery (And on my Vmount Plate). I was very impressed with the price for amount of Wh...And the unit has performed very well.
I charged it up overnight, and shot with it most of the next day, it literally lasted the entire shoot, it was a dream not having to really worry about batteries, it lasted much longer than I ever expected. Again, I was powering a body, 5inch monitor, and a Dual Lav Receiver.
I also really liked it's size, as I was able to ditch the back-weight on my rig, and it didn't really add much weight at all.
If you are looking for a well built and great priced Vmount battery, this is a great purchase. I will definitely purchase a 2nd battery when the need arrises.

I've been a director of photography and camera operator for a long time and these Maxoak v mount batteries are by far the longest lasting and most robust on the market. I now use them to power my Black Magic Ursa Mini 4.6k and all of my LED lights on set. I needed something that was dependable and wouldn't drain quickly and I found these. I'm using the 177 versions. I recently shot two films and the batteries can last almost an entire shooting day. I left my Ursa running a timelapse in RAW 4.6k for over 2 hours and the battery only went down one bar. They are quick to charge, include their own charger, a USB and a Dtap power slot, and I will definitely be adding more to my kit.

Don't hesitate to buy these. Battery life is great, build is good for the price, and customer support is incredible. Not sure about the longevity yet, but based on the customer support I've experienced, they are confident in these batteries.

This battery so far is working better than expected. We are using it on a Red Epic with 9" Touch Pro LCD and results are amazing. For the price we were expecting less duration. So far we can use it for around 2h with no problem. Some people complain about the case, but you need to take care anyway no matter if is heavy duty casing or not, so no problem with that.
Considering to order a couple more in the next weeks. I hope they get bigger batteries than this so we can use them with other vmount devices.
